The Philadelphia 76ers have been hit with adversity and inconsistency throughout the 2023-24 season but one part of the team has been reliable all year: Tyrese Maxey.
Maxey has been having a wonderful year and has improved his game in many ways.
Because of that, he is now the heavy favorite to win this year’s Most Improved Player award, according to Bovada, via NBACentral.
Maxey has -1500 odds, far ahead of Coby White of the Chicago Bulls with +800, Jalen Williams of the Oklahoma City Thunder with +7500, and Jonathan Kuminga of the Golden State Warriors with +15000.

Maxey had a big void to fill when the season kicked off this year.
The 76ers lost James Harden just before the first game of the year and it was up to Maxey to step up and assist his team more.
That is exactly what he did, averaging 25.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 6.3 assists.
He has been shooting 44.8% from the field and has started in all 68 games he has played this year.
Maxey has easily earned his spot in the starting lineup and has made Harden feel like a distant memory in many ways.
Of course, the team faced new problems, especially when it lost Joel Embiid.
Without Embiid, the team slid down the standings, even though Maxey continued to play very well.
Now that the reigning MVP is back, the 76ers are looking like true playoff contenders again.
As for Maxey, his improved season continues and he earned his first All-Star appearance this year.
During his last 13 games, he has averaged 25.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 6.3 assists.
Along with Embiid, he has helped his team climb higher in the Eastern Conference rankings and is now very close to claiming the sixth seed.
The team has experienced its good and bad this year but Maxey has improved across the board.
