The NFL world is buzzing after San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk reportedly asked to be traded on Tuesday after failed contract extension negotiations with the team.
Aiyuk has been reportedly looking for an extension in the neighborhood of $30 million a year, which would make him one of the highest-paid wideouts in the league, but neither side has been able to even come close to an agreement.
The 49ers are reportedly not willing to trade him, but if they do end up doing so, the Pittsburgh Steelers have the best odds of landing him according to SportsLine, per Michael Rimmer.

The Steelers reportedly tried to discuss an Aiyuk trade with San Francisco a few months ago, but those talks went nowhere.
They have an improved roster that should once again make the playoffs thanks to the addition of future Hall of Fame quarterback Russell Wilson, and the addition of a legitimate star wideout such as Aiyuk could make them a borderline Super Bowl contender.
As they usually seem to be, the Steelers are an excellent defensive team, and that defense has helped Mike Tomlin never finish with a losing record in over 15 years as their head coach.
In 2023, Aiyuk caught 75 passes for 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns, and his 17.9 yards per reception were second in the NFL, behind only George Pickens of the Steelers.
Aiyuk and Pickens would make a terrific wideout duo, and combined with a defense that was sixth in points allowed and looks improved going into the new season, they could restore the Steelers’ old glory.
