Now that the Cleveland Cavaliers have officially been knocked out of the NBA playoffs, with the Boston Celtics advancing to the Eastern Conference Finals, all the attention has turned to Cleveland’s offseason and some potentially significant moves that could be made.
All that attention has been centered on star guards Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland, as it seems this dynamic duo has played its last game together, with one of them getting traded this summer.
It seems as though all the power is in Mitchell’s hands right now as all he has to do is sign a contract extension with the team to secure his future in Cleveland, with no doubt he’s the better of the two players for the Cavaliers.
If Mitchell signs a new deal, Garland’s representation will likely issue a trade demand, which is the rumor floating around as he no longer wants to play with the superstar guard in the backcourt in Cleveland.
That said, a few trade scenarios have been floated out there, and odds have surfaced, with the latest news being an interesting move for the up-and-comer, according to Bovada via NBACentral.

Many believe that the one glaring problem for the San Antonio Spurs in Victor Wembanyama’s first season in the league was not having a true point guard.
Interestingly enough, Garland would instantly solve that problem, as he could be the ideal teammate to have to initiate the offense in San Antonio while unlocking Wembanyama’s potential that much more for the Spurs moving forward.
