On Thursday night, the Philadelphia 76ers saw their 2023-24 NBA season officially come to an end, with the New York Knicks getting the best of them at Wells Fargo Center in what was an epic first-round battle between these two Eastern Conference heavyweights.
With the 76ers going home early, the attention turns to the NBA offseason and what moves the team will make in order to keep superstar center Joel Embiid and the team competitive as a contender in the East.
Veteran Tobias Harris will be one of many players on the current 76ers roster that will hit the free-agent market this summer, with his contract expiring after the completion of this season.
Although Harris has made a lot of money over the course of his NBA career, he’s not the player he once was, and Philadelphia will likely move on this summer, meaning he’ll finally be on the move.
According to Bovada, the Detroit Pistons are the team favored to sign Harris in NBA free agency this summer, via NBACentral.

The consensus has been that Harris has been relatively overpaid during his career and hasn’t really lived up to expectations, so it will be interesting to see what his next contract will look like and what teams are willing to pay him in free agency.
As for the Pistons, Detroit is a team that hasn’t been able to put it together over the last few years with a lot of young players and a lot of cap space available, making Harris an intriguing option.
