The NBA season is still months away.
But after watching some major transactions go down in the offseason and taking a look at the current picture around the league, we can already start making some predictions.
Notably, that’s also the case with oddsmakers and sportsbooks.
As pointed out by Evan Sidery of Forbes Sports, we already have a favorite for the next NBA MVP (via DraftKings).

Apparently, Nikola Jokic is the odds-on favorite to take home the award again with +350 odds, followed closely by Luka Doncic and his +370 odds.
Oklahoma City Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is tied with Joel Embiid at +600 odds.
Notably, Victor Wembanyama has also entered the race, although with +2800 odds.
Jokic has already won the MVP award three times in his career.
As of now, Los Angeles Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar holds the record for the most MVPs with six.
And while he’s still halfway there and will face some steep competition until his playing days are over, it seems like Jokic has a legitimate chance to at least come close to him.
Whether he’ll be able to do it in today’s narrative-driven NBA and with all the rising talent remains to be seen.
Whatever the case, he doesn’t seem to care that much about individual glory, and he’ll be just fine for as long as his Denver Nuggets continue to compete for NBA championships.
