Odds Show A Clear Favorite To Win NBA’s Rookie Of The Year

The 2024 NBA Draft is officially in the books and the Washington Wizards should feel good about what they were able to come away with.

The Wizards had the No. 2 overall pick and selected Alex Sarr who most project to be the best player in this class.

However, Washington wasn’t done as they used the No. 14 pick they got from the Portland Trail Blazers in the Deni Avdija trade to take Bub Carrington.

Lastly, they took Kyshawn George with the No. 24 pick, rounding out a great group of prospects from a value and talent standpoint.

The Wizards are all in on their rebuild and landing a player like Sarr who has enormous two-way potential is a step in the right direction for a franchise that has been mired in futility.

Although Sarr was the No. 2 overall selection, he is the clear favorite to win NBA Rookie of the Year via BetMGM.

“Alexander Sarr +425, Zaccharie Riscacher +600, Dalton Knecht +700, Stephon Castle +900.”

This should come as no surprise as there aren’t many players with Sarr’s size, length and instincts.

Zaccharie Riscacher projects as a strong 3-and-D player once he fully develops, but there are questions as to whether or not the outside shooting is real.

Meanwhile, Dalton Knecht is a sneaky darkhorse to win the award after he somehow fell all the way to the Los Angeles Lakers where he’ll step into an immediate role as a floor spacer for new head coach JJ Redick.

Lastly, Stephon Castle should step into the starting point guard role for the San Antonio Spurs and create a defensive force with Victor Wembanyama.
