The Baltimore Orioles are once again having a strong season.
Last year they surprised many people with their success as they just missed the playoffs by a few games.
But they have not snuck up on anyone this year.
The Orioles have a roster loaded with young talent and All-Star caliber players.
One player who is making his All-Star Game debut is outfielder Austin Hays.
He was selected as a reserve but due to a few injuries, Hays will now be starting the game for the American League.
The Orioles’ Twitter account announced the news and it is a well-earned achievement for Hays.

Hays might be the best outfielder in baseball that no one knows about.
He is batting .312 this year with eight home runs and 34 RBI.
In 76 games played, he has 87 hits.
The Orioles continue to win and keep pace with the Tampa Bay Rays in the AL East.
Outside of Hays, another Orioles All-Star that has kept them elite is Adley Rutschman.
He is batting .274 with 11 home runs and 37 RBI.
Also, he has a 1:1 strikeout-to-walk ratio.
Rutschman is in his second MLB season and he has already proven to be one of the best catchers in baseball.
Outside of the two hitters the Orioles are also getting All-Star appearances for Felix Bautista and Yennier Cano.
For being one of the best teams in baseball, it makes sense that they have four All-Stars.
It will be fun to see how all these first-time All-Stars perform in the game next week.
