The NBA is where amazing happens, and there’s always a chance that we get to witness something magical.

Nonetheless, even in this league, some things seem impossible.

The Indiana Pacers are facing one of those situations.

After falling to 0-3 in the Eastern Conference Finals, they’re now in a position to make NBA history by becoming the very first team to come back from such a deficit (Via NBA on ESPN).

That’s bound to happen at some point.

The Boston Celtics were pretty close to pulling it off last season at this very same stage, but they couldn’t get past the Miami Heat in the end.

Of course, the Celtics were also at full strength during that playoff run, while the Pacers are without their best player.

Tyrese Haliburton left the floor late in Game 2 and didn’t return, and he was forced to be on the sidelines for Game 3 with a hamstring injury.

Rick Carlisle’s team has proven that they can be on top of this team for long stretches, but they’ve allowed them to storm right back late in games.

They were five seconds away from pulling off a huge upset in Game 1, and they were up by as many as 18 points in Game 3, so it’s not like they cannot compete with the Celtics.

Even so, they might lack the postseason experience to finish the job.

But even if their chances of making history seem quite slim right now, anything can happen in the NBA playoffs, and the Celtics do have a tendency to be overconfident at times.
