Pacers GM Says Team Might Get Aggressive On Trade Market This Offseason

The Indiana Pacers were one of the most surprising teams in the NBA this season.

After several years of frustrating results, the Pacers reached the Eastern Conference Finals, just one series away from the NBA Finals.

Despite getting swept by the Boston Celtics, there is a sense of optimism surrounding the Pacers organization, considering they weren’t expected to make it as far as they did.

The Pacers have a mostly young roster with several developing players.

In their eyes, if they can get to the Eastern Conference Finals with this team and their limited postseason experience, the sky could be the limit for them moving forward.

GM Chad Buchanan talked about the current state of the team in a recent conversation shared by reporter Evan Sidery.

Buchanan seems confident in the roster he has assembled to this point, but if the right player is available, they could “get aggressive,” in his words.

Pacers GM Chad Buchanan said today they’re comfortable running it back with their roster, but if the right opportunity presents itself on the trade market they will get aggressive.

When looking at some of the most dominant teams in the league, the majority of them have several star players who can make a difference on a nightly basis.

The Celtics have Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, the Dallas Mavericks have Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic, and the Minnesota Timberwolves have Karl Anthony-Towns and Anthony Edwards.

All three of these teams have at least two stars on their roster, but the Pacers haven’t quite found a solid No. 2 behind Tyrese Haliburton.

Will they get aggressive, as Buchanan mentions, adding one more complementary player to improve their roster moving forward?
