Coming into Game 7 against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden, the Indiana Pacers were considered the slight underdogs heading into hostile territory, with Jalen Brunson and company favored by -2.5.
However, the Pacers came to play on Sunday at the iconic arena, which cost fans a fortune ($600+) to get in the door, shooting an unbelievable percentage in the first half against the Knicks.
Although Josh Hart and OG Anunoby playing through their injuries to get on the floor stole the headlines ahead of Game 7, Indiana changed the narrative quickly in the first quarter, with Tyrese Haliburton and company seemingly unable to miss right out of the gate.
According to NBA.com/Stats, the Pacers shot 76.3% from the floor in the first half, which is the highest shooting percentage of any half of a playoff game in the play-by-play era.

It seemed as though the Knicks were helpless when it came to defending the Pacers in the first half, who seemingly couldn’t miss from the field, which is the worst-case scenario for a banged-up Knicks squad hoping to limp into the Eastern Conference Finals.
Whether it is the Knicks, who will have to pull off an impressive second-half comeback to get back in this game, or the Pacers that advance, they’ll have the tall task of facing a rested Boston Celtics ready and waiting in the next round.
At this point, there’s no telling if either of these two teams can beat the Celtics in a seven-game series, but there’s no doubting the heart and resilience of the Pacers and Knicks, who refuse to quit.
