The Green Bay Packers already have their starting quarterback for years to come.

Jordan Love is the answer to their prayers, and while it’s still early to determine whether he’s going to be Aaron Rodgers’ rightful heir, the franchise seems more than confident and content with him.

With that in mind, they’re not even going to risk sending him to the field on their second preseason game.

According to a report by NFL insider Rob Demovsky, Packers Head Coach Matt LaFleur announced Sean Clifford as the starter vs. the Denver Broncos.

While Michael Pratt got the snaps with the No. 2 offense in yesterday’s 2 minute drill, Matt LaFleur said Sean Clifford is still expected to start vs. Denver and then Pratt will go second with Jordan Love not expected to play. pic.twitter.com/NvLDFQJajM

Michael Pratt got snaps with the No. 2 offense in the two-minute drill in practice, and he’s expected to play after Clifford.

The Packers just signed Love to a record-breaking contract extension, and they have high hopes and expectations for him.

While some thought it was a bold move to give him such a big-money deal after just one season as their starter, they’ve been very bullish on him and his progress since they got him in the first round of the NFL Draft.

The Packers have a promising set of playmakers in their offense, and the addition of Josh Jacobs is also expected to do wonders for Matt LaFleur’s offense, as he’s arguably the only four-down back left in today’s game.

This team is looking forward to building off last year’s momentum.

This time around, however, they won’t surprise anybody, as the league has taken notice of their plethora of talent and well-coached squad, not to mention their new leader at quarterback.
