After a dreadful start to the 2023 NFL regular season, the Green Bay Packers looked like they were headed for a disappointing end to their first season without superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers leading the way under center.

The Packers knew it was a big risk to trade Rodgers to the New York Jets with the jury still out on young quarterback Jordan Love, but he eventually proved that the team made the right move and that the franchise is in good hands moving forward.

Green Bay went on to clinch a playoff spot in the NFC and then pulled off a shocking upset against the Dallas Cowboys on the road at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Love and company crushed the second-seeded Cowboys and almost pulled off another upset against the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional round of the NFL playoffs.

Despite seeing their season come to an end in the Bay Area, the Packers showed there’s a promising future on the horizon.

However, the team still needs to make moves this offseason, and one of those moves could be restructuring the contract of star running back Aaron Jones, according to Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Let me clarify the story I wrote on Aaron Jones. The #Packers met to try to reduce his salary cap number. I don’t know that they’re asking for a pay cut. I should have made that clear. It could be a restructure. The idea is to just get his cap number down. Sorry for the confusion

Even though the Packers had a successful season as a whole, Jones didn’t have his best year, as he played in only 11 games, racking up 656 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 142 carries.

However, Jones also caught 30 passes for 233 receiving yards and a touchdown, as he remains a force to be reckoned with in the passing game.
