The Carolina Panthers headed into the 2023 NFL season with high hopes of finally turning things around for the struggling franchise, as they had selected University of Alabama quarterback Bryce Young with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft and had high expectations for his immediate future with the team.
Unfortunately, the Panthers limped to a 2-15 record last season, which turned out to be the worst in the league, with the next closest team winning two more games during the 2023 campaign.
Although it was doom and gloom for the Panthers last season, resulting in head coach Frank Reich getting fired and many questions about whether they made the right decision drafting Young over Houston Texans rookie phenom CJ Stroud, Carolina hopes for a better outcome in 2024.
A lot hinges on whether Young can take another step or two in his development as the team’s starting quarterback, but the team must also address the defensive side of the football, which it did on Tuesday with the team bringing in former Denver Broncos defensive back Caden Sterns, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

After having a couple of decent first two seasons with the Broncos, where he played in only 20 games, Sterns played in only one game last season in Denver and obviously wasn’t in the team’s long-term plans.
Sterns will be one of the many players who will try to make the final roster for the Panthers before the team heads into Week 1 to take on the division-rival New Orleans Saints on the road on September 8.
