After a dreadful start to the 2023 NFL season following the team going all out to bring in No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young in the 2023 NFL Draft, the Carolina Panthers are trying to right the ship, with the team recently parting ways with head coach Frank Reich.

The 1-10 start to the season enraged team owner David Tepper, who grew increasingly impatient with the team’s lack of progress, even though they had an unproven rookie quarterback leading the way.

With the 2023 campaign a lost cause for the Panthers, the team is just trying to get through the rest of the season and focus on building the team around Young for the foreseeable future.

In the meantime, the Panthers are still making moves to improve the roster for the rest of the regular season, with the team recently claiming veteran cornerback Shaquill Griffin off waivers, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Although Griffin isn’t the same player he was earlier in his career when he was one of the better corners in the league, he can still make an impact on the football field and will fully intend to do so for the Panthers, even though the season is lost for the lowly franchise.

Griffin made the Pro Bowl during his short stint with the Seattle Seahawks before playing for the Jacksonville Jaguars and Houston Texans.

It’ll be interesting to see how the rest of the season pans out for the Panthers and whether this team can show promise to turn things around during the 2024 campaign.
