The Carolina Panthers fired Frank Reich before the end of the season.

While he didn’t do an impressive job, firing a coach with a rookie quarterback midway through his first season isn’t a good sign of how a team is managed.

That’s why the potential coaching candidates should be as wary of signing with them as they need to be cautious with the next guy in line to take the reins of the team.

With that in mind, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Panthers are going to interview Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Brian Johnson for their HC vacancy.

Johnson has been in charge of the offense for just one year, replacing Shane Steichen after he left the team to become the Indianapolis Colt’s head coach this season.

Even though the Eagles collapsed towards the end of the season, they’re still seventh in points scored and eighth in total yards throughout the course of the season, so it’s not like the offense hasn’t fared well.

Notably, the Panthers will also have to find a new General Manager, as they also parted ways with Scott Fitterer at the end of the campaign, and they’ll have plenty of work to do to rebuild this team without a first-round pick this season.
