Panthers GM Sends A Clear Message About Bryce Young

The Carolina Panthers gave up a lot to get Bryce Young.

Despite his small size, he had shown all the intangibles to make people think that he could find success in the league.

He’s built similarly to Drew Brees, and he was a savvy passer who always felt comfortable in the pocket and often made the right read and decision.

Not much of that was on display during his rookie season, and while it’s not unusual to see first-year quarterback struggles, Young looked lost and out of sorts out there.

Some didn’t need to watch a lot of tape before turning their back on him.

However, that’s not the case with the Panthers, and especially not with GM Dan Morgan (Via David Newton).

Talking to the media, he doubled down on his commitment to the Alabama product, making it loud and clear that he fully believes he’s got all the tools one needs to be a successful quarterback in the National Football League.

Young reportedly struggled to get a hold of the playbook, and he was banged up and seemed to lose a lot of confidence late in the season.

Now, he’ll get to work with a quarterback guru like Dave Canales, who talked about simplifying things for him.

Canales has found plenty of success with struggling quarterbacks in the past, and it’s never wise to count out a young quarterback after a bad rookie season.

Then again, if he doesn’t show signs of improvement in 2024, the Panthers might start reconsidering their stance on the former Heisman winner.
