Looking back, Carolina Panthers fans might want to get that trade with the Chicago Bears back.

They gave up what turned out to be a massive return to get their hands on Bryce Young, who looked like a stud in college.

Young entered the league with concerns about his lack of size and bulk, but the intangibles and other traits were through the roof.

However, he struggled mightily in his first campaign, up to the point where some even doubted whether he’d ever be able to turn things around.

Now, with another training camp under his belt, it seems like he’s looked faster in terms of processing, and while he’s still not a big player and never will be, the team seems very high on him.

At least, that’s what Panthers insider Sheena Quick said in her recent appearance on The Pat McAfee Show.

I expect him to take a leap this year and everyone around him is seemingly better”@Sheena_Marie3 #PMSLive pic.twitter.com/0oqHFvFhhB

Quick claimed that the Panthers now have an offensive-minded coach with a better offensive line, not to mention the fact that Jonathan Mingo should be able to take a step forward after putting in a lot of work in the offseason and working out with Steve Smith Sr.

Young looked bad in his first season, but it wasn’t entirely on him.

His subpar offensive line allowed him to get sacked 62 times.

His wide receivers failed to get any sort of separation, and their WR1 was a 33-year-old on the backend of his career.

Frank Reich and the offensive coordinator also failed to scheme accordingly and put him in a position to succeed.
