The Carolina Panthers didn’t hesitate to move the pieces they needed to acquire the No. 1 pick.
And as much as some speculated about his height and thought the Panthers could revamp their defense or go with C.J. Stroud instead, there was never a doubt in their mind that they were going to select Bryce Young.
Notably, it didn’t take long before the rookie got a hold of the Panthers’ offense, and we don’t mean just the playbook.
According to Panthers C Bradley Bozeman, every single player shuts up when Young enters the huddle, respecting his leadership and letting him be in control of the next play, according to Joe Person.
Panthers C Bradley Bozeman said he’s been places where the QB steps into the huddle and guys are still talking about the previous play. Not with Bryce Young. “When he steps in the huddle, everybody shuts up.”

Young’s maturity, football IQ, and leadership were three of the traits that made everybody be so high on him during his days with the Alabama Crimson Tide.
He handles himself like a true professional, and his peers recognize that.
He’s the kind of player who’ll lead by example, and it’s easy to respect that, even if you’re a veteran and he has yet to take a single snap in the league.
And as much as HC Frank Reich and the team’s GM wanted to make it seem like there was a chance that Andy Dalton would be their starter to begin the season, there was never a doubt that Young was eventually going to win that spot during training camp.
It’s the dawn of a new era in Carolina, and bright things could be ahead with their new quarterback leading the way.
