There was a lot of anticipation for the Carolina Panthers heading into the 2023 season.
After taking Bryce Young with the No. 1 overall pick in the draft, the Panthers seemingly had their quarterback of the future.
However, unlike C.J. Stroud’s rookie season with the Houston Texans, Young and the Panthers failed to get into a rhythm.
They ended up winning just two games last season, finishing the year with the worst record in the league.
With their record in mind, the Panthers were forced to go back to the drawing board, hoping to add the right players in the offseason to help their cause in 2024 and beyond.
They did make some moves on offense to start the offseason, namely, adding Diontae Johnson into the fold as another receiving option for Young.
According to the team’s recent tweet, they have also signed five new players, including cornerbacks Chris Wilcox and Quandre Mosley.

As the Panthers highlighted on their website, these signings were mainly due to injuries to their primary cornerbacks.
Mosley and Wilcox will get opportunities to earn long-term spots for the team, so this is a win-win situation.
Besides Mosley and Wilcox, the Panthers also signed running back Jaden Shirden, wide receiver Sam Pinckney, and another cornerback, Willie Drew.
The Panthers are looking to return to relevancy next year, and while these young players might not start for them in 2024, they can at least add depth to their roster, something every NFL team needs, especially considering how long the season is.
