There are few compliments in sports better than being a “dawg” or as the kids would say, “having that dog in you.”
One Chicago Bears player was recently bestowed the honor of being an “absolute dawg” by Pat McAfee after his performance on the most recent episode of HBO’s Hard Knocks.
On the most recent episode of The Pat McAfee Show, McAfee said that cornerback Jaylon Johnson is an “absolute dawg” and added that he and wide receiver D.J. Moore were the standouts of the show for their veteran leadership on either side of the ball.

Co-star and former NFL cornerback Darius Butler agreed with McAfee and was impressed with Johnson’s reps in practice going against Moore and Keenan Allen.
McAfee acknowledged he wasn’t as familiar with Johnson’s game as he should have been but believes he was the star of the show due to how impressive he was on the field and how strong he appeared to be in a leadership role.
Johnson picked off a career-high four passes last season and signed a 4-year, $76 million extension with the Bears this offseason to continue to serve as their long-term No. 1 corner.
The Bears quietly had a solid defense last year and fans are hoping the offense can catch up this season after trading for Keenan Allen and drafting Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze.
Expectations are higher than ever in Chicago and Hard Knocks is only going to add to that excitement, especially if fans are going to get more familiar with Jaylon Johnson, who may become a household name by the end of this season.
