Patrick Beverley Makes A Bold Claim About Karl-Anthony Towns

Not so long ago, NBA scouts raved about Karl-Anthony Towns as the undisputed No. 1 pick in the draft.

And while he’s had some very solid seasons for the Minnesota Timberwolves, numbers-wise, he never actually took that step forward to establish himself as a dominant presence in the league.

However, after all the injuries and despite watching Nikola Jokic recently win the NBA championship, Patrick Beverley still believes Towns is the best big man in the league, per his podcast.

Beverley sure knows Towns after playing with him in Minnesota, and there’s no denying that he’s one of the best big men in the game when it comes to shooting threes, not to mention he’s averaged a double-double for his career.

But Towns isn’t exactly a lockdown defender, nor is he a better offensive player than, say, Jokic or Joel Embiid.

Some argue that Towns isn’t even the best player on his team right now, with Anthony Edwards surging and taking over as the Timberwolves’ go-to guy since entering the league.

There’s also a chance that Towns only needs a change of scenery to be at his best, as we’ve seen that happen multiple times in history.

But some have questioned his character and determination to compete at the highest level, with even some of his colleagues hinting at him being soft.

Then again, Beverley was the same guy who said that Chris Paul wasn’t that good, and we know he loves to stir the pot with his many blazing hot takes.
