Over the past few years, the Boston Celtics have seemingly gotten better and better, with the dynamic duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown leading the way for the storied franchise that has 17 championship banners hanging in the rafters at TD Garden.
Unfortunately for Boston, this dynamic duo is no longer considered to be a couple of young players on the rise as the pressure has started to mount with the fanbase wanting to see results, especially after Brown signed for over $300 million.
Last season, the Celtics fell one win short of reaching the NBA Finals for a second straight year, as Boston couldn’t get the best of Jimmy Butler and the red-hot Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Despite an inspired comeback in the series with the Heat, Miami was too much to handle in Game 7, resulting in the Celtics going home empty-handed once again and looking for answers.
On a recent episode of the “Pat Bev Podcast,” Patrick Beverley shared his thoughts on the Celtics star duo of Tatum and Brown and how he thinks they’ll never win a title together, via NBACentral.

Beverley feels like Brown and Tatum don’t “complement each other enough” on the basketball floor, and he might have a point, as this duo has only been successful to a certain level.
However, the Celtics did make a major move this offseason to help shake things up a bit, as the team traded for veteran forward Kristaps Porzingis to help shoulder the load in Boston.
The arrival of Porzingis should help take the pressure off these two stars, which might result in this team finally living up to its potential and winning it all.
