The Philadelphia 76ers made an interesting move this offseason when they decided to bring in veteran guard Patrick Beverley.
He has never been known as an offensive playmaker, averaging only 8.5 points per game in his career.
But where he makes his money is on the defensive end.
Beverley has been named to the NBA All-Defensive team three times in his career, which is presumably why the 76ers brought him to town.
Beverley has done exactly what the 76ers have hoped for in the first five games of the season and has said as much on his podcast.
The “Pat Bev Pod” is where Beverley delivered a message to all his critics.
Beverley said: “Your favorite player wishes I was on his team.”

Beverley mentioned how he impacts the game of basketball, going so far as to call himself an “elite” defender.
He is only playing 18.2 minutes per game for the 76ers, but he takes pride in doing all of the little things on the court.
As a result, he is boasting an impressive +32 on the season.
In other words, good things happen for the Sixers when Beverley is on the court.
Beverley is the type of player that you love if he is on your team and despise if he is your opponent.
He is a pest on defense and is always talking trash, trying to get under his opponents’ skin.
Even though he has moved from team to team over the years and has an unconventional playing style, Beverley remains a valuable asset to any team lucky enough to have him.
