Now that Michael Jordan has minimized his role with the Charlotte Hornets, another NBA legend is arriving.

With his 17 seasons of experience, 11 All-Star selections, and spots in both the Hall of Fame and NBA 75th Anniversary Team, Patrick Ewing has a lot to offer any team.

It’s been years since he’s played professional basketball but Ewing is still an expert of the game.

And he’s coming back to the league, in a way.

Steve Reed reported that Ewing will now be working as a coaching consultant for the Hornets.

A video of Ewing at Charlotte’s training camp was shared on Twitter by Reed, but not much else is known about his role.

During his NBA career, Ewing was Rookie of the Year, All-NBA seven times, and was also All-Defensive three times.

He was selected by the New York Knicks as the first overall draft pick in 1985 and played there for nearly all of his career.

One of the most legendary big men in league history, Ewing will bring his expertise to this young, largely untested Hornets roster.

The team has been on the verge of greatness for several seasons now but they have failed to find any real success.

Fans of the team have grown weary of the Hornets falling short and they want to see something change.

Head coach Steve Clifford will have his work cut out for him in 2023-24.

Ewing could greatly help him refine these young players and turn them into a powerful squad that actually has a chance at making the postseason.
