The Kansas City Chiefs are the best team in the league, perhaps not roster-wise, but the numbers speak for themselves.

GM Brett Veach has done a remarkable job of putting the roster together, combining veterans with youth and high-profile players with not-so-known guys.

But the NFL is a ruthless business, and one that requires teams to make multiple transactions and get rid of countless players along the way.

That’s why Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes recently admitted that he doesn’t follow roster cuts too closely, adding that he doesn’t advocate for one player to make the team over another (Via Charles Goldman).

#Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes says that he doesn’t follow roster cuts too closely and doesn’t advocate for one player to make it over another. Says he leaves the decision-making up to Brett Veach, Coach Reid, etc.

“I’m rooting for everybody. . . It’s hard for me. . . I like all…

Mahomes adds that it’s hard for him to pick favorites because he likes everybody in the locker room.

That would make sense as keeping up with all the roster cuts can be exhausting even for the fans.

If anything, Mahomes knows who the untouchables are, and he has nothing to worry about in that regard.

The Chiefs enter the season as one of the best offenses in the league — again — even after losing Eric Bieniemy to the Washington Commanders.

JuJu Smith-Schuster’s absence shouldn’t be much of a talking point, especially considering they have more than enough young talent to fill in for him.

And while their defense could struggle if they can’t reach an agreement with Chris Jones before the start of the season, they will always have a chance to win when Mahomes is on the field.
