Not so long ago, the Kansas City Chiefs signed Patrick Mahomes to the largest contract extension in the history of the league, locking him up for an additional ten years.
And while some thought he wouldn’t be able to pay back that major investment they made in him, he’s already led them to another Super Bowl win since.
Moreover, he could pay them back in apparel sales alone, as NFL insider Ari Meirov recently reported that, once again, he sits alone at the top in terms of jersey sales entering the season.

One could make a case for this being the most talented era in the history of the NFL.
There’s a plethora of young quarterbacks ready to dominate the league for years to come, and even smaller markets are thriving financially.
Even so, it might take a while before a player takes Mahomes down from this list.
Mahomes has become the most spectacular player to watch in the game, and he’s only going to get better in the next couple of years.
Of course, he’s not the only reason why the Chiefs have been so dominant over the past five years or so, but they’ll continue to be the team to beat for as long as he’s out there.
