Although many are picking the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs to once again win the AFC this season, there is a big question hanging over the team as training camp opens up.
How will the Chiefs replace the production of wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster, who led them in receiving yards in 2022 and is now a member of the New England Patriots?
It may have to be done by committee, and perhaps quarterback Patrick Mahomes is working on developing a new weapon, as he found rookie wide receiver Rashee Rice for a nice touchdown reception.

Rice was a second-round pick in April’s draft, and as a senior at Southern Methodist University, he put up 1,355 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns in 2022.
Some feel he could be the young stud wideout Kansas City needs in order to replenish their offensive firepower and remain at the top of the league.
Last season, Smith-Schuster had 933 receiving yards and three touchdowns in the regular season, and he had seven receptions in their come-from-behind Super Bowl win over the Philadelphia Eagles.
His departure came a year after the stunning trade that sent superstar wideout Tyreek Hill from the Chiefs to the Miami Dolphins.
The fact that Mahomes and crew were able to win their second world championship in four seasons right after Hill left is a testament to his incredible abilities and the coaching acumen of Andy Reid.
If nothing else, it taught the football world a lesson — it is never a wise decision to bet against Mahomes.
