The NFL Season is nearly here.
For diehard fans, the beginning of the season is similar to Christmas morning.
There is a lot of anticipation for this year’s season opener between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Detroit Lions.
The Chiefs enter this game as the reigning Super Bowl champions, and the Lions enter the year with high aspirations of a playoff berth.
Patrick Mahomes talked about two Lions players in a press conference ahead of this massive game.
Mahomes first spoke highly of Jared Goff, saying, “He’s a talented thrower, big guy,” calling this game “A tough challenge for us.”
Mahmomes and Goff famously faced off in one of the highest-scoring games in NFL history.
The two battled in this historic Monday Night Football matchup and will now have an opportunity to do so again.
Mahomes also talked about Aidan Hutchison, one of the Lions’ top defenders.
“He’s a great football player, has the physical talent but also is a smart football player,” Mahomes said.
Hutchinson put together a massive rookie campaign in 2022 on an otherwise uninspiring Lions defense.
Had it not been for the dominance of Sauce Gardner for the New York Jets, many believe Hutchinson was a shoo-in for the Defensive Rookie of the Year award.
He will look to continue that play against the Chiefs on Thursday night, hoping to make Mahomes uncomfortable in the pocket.
This is slated to be an exciting game, especially if these two offenses play at a similar level that many analysts expect.
