The Kansas City Chiefs came away from this year’s Super Bowl with their second straight Lombardi Trophy, their third in the past five years.

While this wasn’t necessarily seen as their best roster in the Patrick Mahomes era, they were still able to get it done when it mattered most.

Now, the Chiefs have an opportunity to do something that has never been done in NFL history.

If they win it all next year, the Chiefs will be the first team to win three straight Super Bowls, a feat Mahomes recently called “legendary” in his MVP news conference.

Mahomes has been dominant throughout his career, and while the NFL can have a lot of parity and roster changes each season, he and the Chiefs have found a way to be consistently good.

He is chasing Tom Brady’s records and still needs to win four more Super Bowls to tie him for the most by a quarterback of all time.

While that is the case, Brady never won three in a row, which could be a big differentiating factor for Mahomes’ career.

The Chiefs have a lot of decisions to make on both sides of the ball this offseason, meaning their roster will likely look a lot different as they enter the 2024 season.

Once again, Mahomes will need to get re-acclimated with his new teammates and offensive scheme, hoping to click in a similar way that they did this year.

Can they pull off the impossible and complete the three-peat next season?
