The past few seasons have been rocky for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

While they have kept Mike Tomlin’s streak of .500 seasons alive, the Steelers haven’t exactly been the picture of consistency.

Kenny Pickett hasn’t necessarily been the quarterback the team expected, which has caused their offense to struggle at times.

The saving grace for this team has been their defense, which continues to be among the best units in football.

They have found a way to maintain elite levels of defensive output, a big reason they have won some of their close games.

While they have a great defensive roster, the status of one Steelers defender is up in the air.

There have been rumors that the Steelers want to move on from Patrick Peterson, hoping to get younger at the cornerback position.

Whether or not these rumors are true or not remains to be seen.

Peterson recently discussed this situation in a segment of his “All Things Covered” podcast, where, according to Pro Football Talk, he said, “I signed a two-year deal for a reason.”

Peterson has made it clear that, if the Steelers want him this year, he is happy to play for them for another season.

It will be interesting to see how this situation moves forward, especially since the Steelers are looking to have more success in 2024 than they have in the past few years.

If they think Peterson still has enough gas in the tank, he will play for them.

Otherwise, they could look at a younger option, hoping they provide the spark the team has been looking for.
