The first wave of free agency was full of surprising and exciting moves for teams as numerous impact players switched teams.

With the NFL’s salary cap rising, teams had the luxury of splurging on players and it resulted in one of the more active first weeks of free agency in a while.

Combined with the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft, this offseason is shaping up to be one of the busiest and most intriguing in recent memory.

As is the case every year, there is still a crop of players left unsigned who should be able to help a team on a value deal.

One such player still waiting to sign is veteran defensive back Patrick Peterson who spent the 2023 NFL campaign with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Although Peterson is on the downswing of his career, he sent a strong message to the league that he can still play via Around the NFL.

“I do feel like I still have a lot left in the tank and can provide, not only leadership, but playmaking ability to whatever team desires to have me on their roster,” Peterson said.

Peterson’s lone season in Pittsburgh was a mixed bag as he looked like a shell of himself trying to defend on the outside.

While he had a few moments that resembled his old self, it’s clear that Peterson is far past his days as a shutdown corner.

Despite that, teams could use his veteran savvy and leadership and he should sign somewhere before the start of training camp.
