Coming into the 2023 NFL season, the Dallas Cowboys will be an interesting team to watch, as America’s Team is expected to be a heavyweight in the NFC and potentially the biggest threat to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Even though most of the hype surrounding the Cowboys over the past few years has revolved around star quarterback Dak Prescott and the offense, this year appears to be a bit different, with the defense being the talk of the town in Dallas.

One of the main reasons for the Cowboys getting so much buzz this year definitely is the emergence of linebacker Micah Parsons as a legitimate superstar and the undisputed leader of the defense.

Although Parsons is the face of the defense for the Cowboys moving forward, cornerback Trevon Diggs is a scary sight for an opposing quarterback, as he quickly became one of the best players in the league at his position.

Fellow corner Patrick Surtain II of the Denver Broncos recently praised Diggs for what he’s been able to accomplish during his short time in the league thus far.

“When the ball’s in the air, he treats it like it’s his.  Ain’t no 50-50.  Ain’t no 70-30.  It’s all 100,” he said via PFF.

The Cowboys recently rewarded Diggs for being the dominant player he is in the secondary by signing him to a lucrative contract extension worth nearly $100 million.

With Dallas having some high expectations coming into this upcoming season, Diggs will be under some pressure to perform, especially after signing his lucrative long-term deal.

Parsons will also be under some pressure as he could be the next in line to get a major payday from the Cowboys.
