An era ended with the New England Patriots when Tom Brady decided to take his talents to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The organization and fanbase had been treated to elite quarterback play for over 20 years, and when Brady left, it was a sign that things were about to change.
Since Brady left, the Patriots have struggled to get any traction, and they have only made the playoffs once in the past four seasons.
Many analysts have attributed this to a lack of solid quarterback performances, something the team is looking to address ahead of the 2024 campaign.
The Patriots have also made a significant change, electing to move Jerod Mayo into Bill Belichick’s role as head coach.
With all of these changes in mind, there seems to be optimism building within the locker room.
Matthew Judon recently spoke to Boston.com reporter Khari Thompson, where he said that there is “new energy and new life” on this team, which could bode well for the Patriots this year.

The Patriots are an organization that is used to winning.
Their run under Brady is commonly called one of the most impressive dynasties in the NFL’s history, and now that they have struggled for four seasons, it was time for some changes.
Who their quarterback will be next year remains a mystery, but if Judon’s optimism is genuine, there is a real chance that this team can turn themselves around.
Mayo has massive shoes to fill, but given the Patriots were more than ready to give him the keys to this team, it is clear that he is trusted to lead the rebuild.
