The AFC East division has gotten off to an interesting start to the 2023 NFL season, with all four teams seemingly headed in different directions after Week 1.

The New York Jets are in trouble despite getting the best of the Buffalo Bills on Monday night, with Aaron Rodgers done for the season with a torn Achilles.

The Bills are also in trouble as they couldn’t hold their own against a team that was devastated by the loss of their undisputed leader under center, shedding doubt on their season.

Then there’s the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins.

Both played in close games in Week 1, with Mac Jones and company giving the Philadelphia Eagles all they could handle and the Dolphins outlasting the Los Angeles Chargers due to an incredible performance from Tua Tagovailoa and Tyreek Hill.

Interestingly enough, Tom Curran of NBC Sports Boston believes Jones and Tagovailoa are the “same guy” and would argue the Patriots’ starter is better, via NBC Sports Boston.

Curran might have been taking a bit of a biased approach when comparing Tagovailoa and Jones, as these two quarterbacks aren’t all that similar, especially with Jones coming off an ugly sophomore season and Tagovailoa getting MVP buzz at one point last season.

In Week 2, these two teams will go head-to-head at Gillette Stadium, and the question about who is better between these promising young quarterbacks might get answered.

This will be an important game for both teams as the AFC East might be up for grabs, with every divisional game being crucial.
