The New England Patriots are 1-3 heading into Sunday’s contest versus the New Orleans Saints, and they may be facing a minor controversy after they got blown out by the Dallas Cowboys, 38-3, on Sunday.
Quarterback Mac Jones played horribly versus Dallas, and head coach Bill Belichick benched him in the third quarter as a result, which has made some wonder about his future as the team’s starter under center.
But he will apparently continue to be the Patriots’ QB1, and tight end Mike Gesicki told the media that everyone needs to support Jones and make plays for him, per NBC Sports Boston.

On the season, Jones has completed 63.7 percent of his passes while throwing five touchdown passes and four interceptions.
He showed a glimmer of hope in Week 1’s loss to the Philadelphia Eagles when he had three touchdown passes, but since then he has been rather lackluster.
As a team, New England ranks 30th in points, and if they’re to make a serious run at a playoff spot, they will need more scoring, which means improved play from Jones.
They’ve reached the 20-point mark just once this year when they scored exactly 20 points versus Philly in Week 1, and their lone win came in an ugly contest against the New York Jets in which they mustered only 15 points.
Wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster, who they signed as a free agent from the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs during the offseason, has been a disappointment, as he has just 80 receiving yards through four games.
