There was a lot of attention on the Los Angeles Clippers heading into the playoffs.
They worked hard to assemble a great team heading into the year, adding James Harden in the offseason, who was said to be the missing piece for this team.
While they had their ups and downs, the Clippers had an opportunity to take their opening playoff series against the Dallas Mavericks, but they ended up losing in six games.
This was a disappointing outcome for a team filled with some of the best players in the NBA.
Paul George recently talked about his frustrations on a segment of his podcast, the “Podcast P Show,” as shared by Joey Linn on Twitter.
“We relied on too much isolation basketball,” George said, adding, The teams that are still playing now are young, we made it easy for Dallas to take over.”
Paul George on the Clippers losing in round one:
“We relied on too much isolation basketball… In Game 4 and our win in Game 1 we played a lot faster. It was a quick pace. That’s how you gotta be… The teams that are still playing right now are young… We made it easy for… pic.twitter.com/ojXEFeLBaN

As George indicates, the Clippers were unable to keep up with the Mavericks and lost in six games as a result.
At least in this year’s playoffs, young teams are finding ways to win, getting crafty and creative with the players on their roster.
It will be interesting to see how the rest of the postseason plays out, and what team will represent the Western Conference in the NBA Finals.
The Mavericks, Denver Nuggets, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Oklahoma City Thunder are the four teams left.
While the Nuggets won the NBA Finals last year, the other three teams are younger, upstart teams that many didn’t give much of a chance to be here.
Could this be the formula to success in the NBA moving forward?
