The Los Angeles Clippers shook up the league by trading for James Harden.

Granted that neither he nor Russell Westbrook are in their primes anymore, adding Harden to a group already featuring Russ, Kawhi Leonard, and Paul George is still quite encouraging for Tyronn Lue’s team.

With that in mind, George addressed how their coach reached out to them now that Harden is a part of the team (via Podcast P).

George talked about how they all got together to discuss the fact that even though they’re all superstars, there’s just one basketball, and they will have to make sacrifices if they want to maximize their talent.

Westbrook has always been a team-first kind of guy, and he’s already bought into what the Clippers want and need from him.

He’s taken fewer shots, but he has never complained and even looks happy in his new role.

While Westbrook might be better suited to come off the bench, the Clippers will roll with all four superstars in the starting lineup, at least for now.

Harden has also had some stretches in which he’s proved that he can be an unselfish player and do what’s best for the team, although that hasn’t always lasted long-term.

At the end of the day, it seems like only unforeseen injuries and Harden’s ego could stand in the way of the Clippers’ path to success.

And while some might still be skeptical about how this team can coexist on the court, great teams and great players often figure things out.
