The Los Angeles Clippers put together an elite tandem of two-way superstars.

But as great a defender as Paul George is nowadays, there was a time when that wasn’t the case.

In the latest episode of “Podcast P,” the Clippers star admitted that he was actually “trash” when he was younger.

Notably, George has taken a lot of pride in his defense since he entered the league, and that’s been one of his cover letters as a star of the game.

He’s long, athletic, and has the nice lateral quickness to always stay in front of any player, and he’s often touted with the tough task of guarding the rival team’s best player.

Not many guys are able to hold their own on the defensive end of the floor and then put up 20+ a night as George does, and that’s why he’s been so valuable for every single team he’s been a part of.

Ironically, though, the word around the league is that he’s currently available for trade, as the Clippers are frustrated with their duo’s lack of playoff success.

George has had to endure several injuries over the past couple of years, but his trade value should still be significantly higher than Kawhi Leonard’s, as the latter has seldom been available for the Clippers and will most likely never play back-to-backs again in his career.

PG-13 could give any contending team a major boost, and even if he wasn’t much of a defender back in the day, he most definitely is nowadays.
