Paul George Makes Bold Championship Claim About His Time With Pacers

Since arriving back home in Southern California, Paul George has been unable to lift the Los Angeles Clippers to the title they have been so desperately craving.

The Clippers swung a blockbuster deal to acquire George from the Oklahoma City Thunder by sending out Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and a haul of draft picks, pairing him with Kawhi Leonard to form one of the best duos in the NBA.

However, the pairing has fallen well short of expectations as injuries have derailed their plans to compete for a championship.

Entering the 2023-24 season, Los Angeles is expected to compete in what looks like a loaded Western Conference Finals though it could be argued that their best shot for a championship has already passed them by.

It’s a tough pill to swallow for George who has yet to add a title to his resume and what has to sting the most is that he’s come close a few times.

In fact, George believes that had he not broken his leg in the summer of 2014, he and the Indiana Pacers would have been able to overcome LeBron James via The Stephen A. Smith Show.

George argues that his time with Team USA would have made him a much better player and in turn, he and the Pacers could have beaten James who established his reign over the Eastern Conference.

George and James had their fair share of postseason battles, with the former making his case as an up-and-coming superstar in the league.

The two stars now find themselves both in L.A. and it will be interesting to see which of their squads goes further.
