For months, reports stated that the Philadelphia 76ers had their eyes on Paul George.
The rumors were all but confirmed when Joel Embiid teased making a run at him in free agency when they were together during an NBA Finals broadcast.

He revealed that, just as reported, his conversations about a contract extension with the Los Angeles Clippers reached a bit of a stalemate.
The Sixers showed up at his house with a strong contingent of people, including the likes of the legendary Julius ‘Dr. J’ Erving.
They sold the city, the organization, and the idea of teaming up with Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey, and he claimed that even his wife felt that they were the right franchise for him.
Per George, he felt really comfortable thinking about the Sixers as the place to spend the next chapter of his career, and, obviously, getting to play with Embiid and Maxey puts him in a privileged position.
The Sixers got significantly better with George’s addition.
Once again, injuries could be the only thing standing in their way to an NBA championship, but they should at least be able to get past the second round of the playoffs for the first time in Embiid’s career now that he’s there.
