After playing the past five seasons for the Los Angeles Clippers, Paul George has decided to start fresh in the NBA once again by agreeing to a lucrative long-term deal with the Philadelphia 76ers.
Although many believed that George would sign a contract extension with the Clippers to keep playing with Kawhi Leonard and James Harden, he didn’t get the offer he wanted and chose to leave his hometown to join forces with Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey in Philadelphia.
It appears that George is very content with his decision to leave Los Angeles in favor of Philadelphia, as he’s had nothing but good things to say about the move and his new teammates.
George opened up recently on “Podcast P with Paul George” about teaming up with Embiid and Maxey, via ClutchPoints.
“It’s a dream come true like having a star point guard, and a star big, that’s a crazy dynamic right there,” George said.

These star-studded trios seem to happen all the time in the NBA with major player movement no longer a rare thing, but it doesn’t always result in success, with the Clippers last season a prime example of how it can go wrong.
They brought in Russell Westbrook and Harden to play with George and Leonard, and although that looks like an all-star team that can’t be beaten, Los Angeles didn’t do much to move the needle, with injuries their undoing once again.
Heading into the upcoming season, Philadelphia will have a talented mix of two-way players and a young point guard on the rise surrounded by veterans, which could give it the makings of a championship team moving forward.
