Paul George has accomplished a lot during his NBA career, and most of it has been achieved because of his terrific talent.

But did a holy intervention also help him become the star he is today?

Speaking on his podcast, per ClutchPoints, George admitted that when he was 15 or 16 years old, he ordered a vial of holy water in hopes of getting a blessing from a higher power.

Once the water was received, he sprinkled it on himself and wished to be an NBA player one day.

Years later, George is now one of the biggest players in the league, so perhaps the holy water worked.

“I don’t think moms or pops know that story of me ordering holy water…I was probably 15-16 years old.”

This story shows how much George has always wished to be a star in the league.

Even as a teenager, he was doing literally anything he could to carve a future for himself in the league.

Of course, it wasn’t just the holy water that got him to where he is now.

George has undeniable talent and has been doing great things in the league for years.

Last season, he averaged 22.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game.

He was perhaps the most important player for the Los Angeles Clippers and when he left the team at the start of the summer, it was a very big deal.

After 14 years in the league, George is still a strong, reliable talent.

However, his brightest days might be ahead of him.

Now that he’s with the Philadelphia 76ers, George is set to perhaps go farther in the playoffs than ever before.

This change of scenery could be just what George’s career needed.

Whether it’s because of holy water or natural talent, George is a major NBA star and this upcoming season could be his most important yet.
