Paul George is one of the most underrated players in the NBA.
For whatever reason, people have singled him out more than the average player whenever he falls short in the playoffs, even though he’s done plenty of the heavy lifting for his teams more often than not.
He went toe-to-toe with prime LeBron James when he took over as the Indiana Pacers’ franchise player, stepping up for the often-injured Danny Granger.
Then, he was an MVP-caliber player for the Oklahoma City Thunder before joining the Los Angeles Clippers and playing mostly on his own with an injured Kawhi Leonard in the playoffs.
With that in mind, he recently admitted that he’s looking forward to having his jersey retired by both the Pacers and the Clippers, as his stay in Oklahoma City was short-lived.
He admitted that he might get booed in Indiana and could be the first player to be booed during his jersey retirement ceremony (via Podcast P & Legion Hoops).

Truth be told, there’s no reason he should be booed in Indiana.
He’s spoken highly of the city, the fan base, and the organization ever since he was traded, and he admitted that the team didn’t want to commit or go all-in to pursue other star players, so it’s not like it was his fault that things didn’t work out there.
As for the Clippers, he may not have done enough to have his jersey retired there, and neither has Kawhi, but that could change if he ends up staying.
