The Boston Celtics have been the best team during the 2023-24 NBA season, as they’re playing the best overall basketball.
Boston’s got a beautiful, free-flowing offense while their defense remains as stingy as ever despite reshaping the roster in the offseason.
The Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday additions have worked out to perfection, while Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are the best wing tandem in the league.
At this juncture, it appears that the Celtics will waltz into the 2024 NBA playoffs as the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference.
With how things are looking, Boston is set up to win its 18th title, though they are still a few teams lurking that could give them trouble.
Celtics legend Paul Pierce has high hopes for his former team, though he admitted the Miami Heat are one squad that can give them trouble in a seven-game series, via “The Truth Lounge.”
“Even though they are where they at, that’s the only team I be like ‘dang I really am scared of,’” Pierce said.

Miami knocked out Boston in the Eastern Conference Finals last year and the two teams could very well meet again.
The Heat have been coasting for most of the regular season, though they finally are rounding into form during the stretch run.
While they might not be as deep or talented as Boston, Miami’s style of play lends itself to the postseason and players like Jimmy Butler play their best when the lights are brightest.
The Celtics will still be considered the favorites in any series, but the Heat do pose the biggest threat to their title hopes.
