A recent poll found that LeBron James is considered the best player on the Team USA basketball team.

But according to Paul Pierce, that poll got it wrong and Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics is the greatest player on the roster.

On Wednesday’s episode of “Undisputed,” Pierce said that James might be the top pick for a lot of people but Tatum is coming off his first championship win and is the most powerful player.

Within a growing roster, Tatum is rising as the future of Team USA.

Pierce may have a point about the team getting older.

It’s hard to deny that the team’s biggest stars are now getting close to retirement.

James, Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, and Kawhi Leonard are definitely approaching the end of their careers.

But some people will take issue with Pierce claiming that Tatum is the squad’s best player.

They may claim that Anthony Edwards is the future of the team, especially after his showing in last summer’s FIBA World Cup.

Others might think it’s Anthony Davis, Devin Booker, or former MVP Joel Embiid.

The bottom line is that there are several powerful young stars in the lineup and it’s hard to say who is the best definitively.

Tatum has a lot to be proud of right now and is still celebrating his first Finals win.

Maybe he will add a gold medal to his accomplishments later this summer.

It doesn’t ultimately matter if he is the best player on Team USA or not; Tatum is having a terrific year.
