The 1992 Team USA Dream Team is still considered the best Olympic squad of all time by many people.
With that being said, this year’s Team USA might be better in some very important ways.
Speaking on Tuesday’s “Undisputed,” Paul Pierce stated that “this USA team would dominate the Dream Team.”
He said that “the style of play” that this year’s Team USA utilizes would allow them to overpower the Dream Team.

He had nothing but praise for plenty of the stars of the 1992 team but still doesn’t think they’d have what it takes to stop LeBron James, Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, and the rest of the players leading this year’s squad.
The ’92 team had icons like Charles Barkley, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Chris Mullins, Scottie Pippen, and, of course, Michael Jordan.
Those are all NBA legends and they quite literally transformed the association forever.
However, a lot has changed since they retired and today’s basketball is quite different than the game they played.
Pierce doesn’t see how the 1992 team could slow down and block this year’s group and they just wouldn’t have an answer for the shooting abilities.
If this year’s team is so good then they should easily claim the gold medal, right?
That isn’t necessarily the case because the rest of the teams from around the world have also improved so much since 1992.
Team USA is battling some of the biggest names in the NBA, such as Nikola Jokic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Shia Gilgeous-Alexander, Victor Wembanyama, and more.
They might be better but the rest of the world is too.
No matter what Pierce believes, the Dream Team will be considered a historic squad for the rest of time.
