Paul Pierce Makes Big LeBron James, Olympics Prediction

The Los Angeles Lakers need to make sure to keep LeBron James as fresh and healthy as possible.

He’s suffered a couple of injuries over the past three years or so, and he looked quite exhausted at the end of last season.

James isn’t getting any younger and will need more time to heal and restore his body as the years go by.

However, despite the major physical burden of playing a full NBA regular season and then the playoffs, former NBA star Paul Pierce still believes that LeBron James will suit up and play in the 2024 Olympics (via Legion Hoops).

Notably, Team USA called up multiple young stars for the FIBA World Cup to ease up the transition to a new era, but we all know the Olympics are something else.

Most of the bonafide NBA superstars will want to play for the gold in the Olympics, and that group could include James, who already has two gold medals and one bronze medal under his belt.

Notably, LeBron still has two years left in his contract, but the second year is a player option.

And given all the uncertainty surrounding Bronny James’ career, he could use the Olympics as a farewell.

Team USA has been historically dominant, and James has had a lot to do with that, even if he hasn’t suited up since 2012, so it would only be fitting to see him do his thing for the national squad one last time before he rides into the sunset,
