Team USA is filled with some of the biggest NBA stars of all time, but who is the best one?
That is a tough question and one that was recently asked in a poll of players and coaches.
LeBron James was selected as the best player on the American team and Paul Pierce isn’t a bit surprised.
Speaking on Wednesday’s “Undisputed,” Pierce said that James sets the standard for most NBA players, so it only makes sense that he’d be voted the best of the bunch.
With that being said, Pierce believes that Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics is the best player on Team USA.

James is the biggest basketball star of the generation so his influence is strong, especially among the younger players who voted in this poll.
Pierce said they likely study the Los Angeles Lakers star and attempt to do everything he does, exactly as he does them.
However, although Pierce isn’t surprised by this choice, he doesn’t really think James is the greatest star on the squad.
In fact, he said several of the players on the roster are growing old and Team USA will be carried by the younger talent, such as Tatum.
Pierce’s co-hosts disagreed with this claim but Pierce has a point about the team’s age.
This is likely the last time that NBA fans will see James, Steph Curry, and Kevin Durant play in the Olympics.
As they approach retirement, it might be time for Tatum, Anthony Edwards, and other young stars to take on more responsibilities.
James might be considered the best player on the team now but this will probably be the last time.
