The Denver Nuggets may have secured the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference on Wednesday night.

That win over the Minnesota Timberwolves put them in control of their destiny, and it’s hard to see them losing the final two games of the regular season.

Securing home-court advantage through the Western Conference Finals is huge, particularly for a team like the Nuggets.

That’s why former NBA champion Paul Pierce believes they’re a “Gorilla Glue lock” to get back to the NBA Finals.

Talking on “Undisputed,” Pierce pointed out that the Nuggets are 33-8 at home, so he seriously doubts someone can beat them at Ball Arena in the postseason.

“The Denver Nuggets are a Gorilla Glue lock to win the West.”

On top of that, he stated that Nikola Jokic is the best player in the league right now, and he’s likely to win MVP, adding that he completely dominated the likeliest candidate to win Defensive Player of the Year in Rudy Gobert.

Pierce thinks that the Nuggets’ brand of basketball and the altitude in Denver pave the way for them to get right back to the mountaintop.

He’s right on point there.

It’s been a year since they won the NBA Championship, and no one has figured out how to stop or even slow down Jokic yet.

Not even the best defenders in the league have been able to crack the code, and not many teams have enough big bodies on their roster to throw different looks at him.

The Nuggets are the team to beat until proven otherwise, even if people continue to sleep on them.
