After their elimination from the playoffs on Monday night, it is very clear that something has to change with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Not only have fans likely seen the last of head coach Darvin Ham, but other adjustments will also come in the summer.
They will likely try to find another star to play alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis and Paul Pierce has an idea for them.
Speaking on “Undisputed,” the former NBA great said that the Lakers should keep an eye on Donovan Mitchell, currently of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Pierce said that Mitchell would be a perfect fit in LA.
He would take some of the pressure off of James’ shoulders and allow Davis to work comfortably in a position that works best for him.
Acquiring Mitchell would immediately improve the Lakers’ chances of postseason greatness and would probably make James happy with his choice to remain in Los Angeles.
Mitchell’s relationship with the Cavaliers is complicated and it seems very likely that he will cut ties with them in the summer, especially if they fail to make it out of the opening round of the playoffs.
The Lakers will just be one of several teams hoping to land the star player.
And the Cavaliers will drive a hard bargain for him; they will demand a lot in exchange.
This could mean the Lakers say goodbye to D’Angelo Russell, Austin Reaves, and even more.
The Lakers are attempting to juggle a lot right now: they want to keep James happy, formulate a post-LeBron future, and stay in contention for a championship.
Landing Mitchell could help them with all of those lofty goals.
